I am no longer teaching Spanish at the Montessori School

It was a very hard decision to stop teaching Spanish part-time but I had to do it. I feel that I need more time for the kids, husband and home. The kids will be attending school part time so I will only have time to work with my online computer science students.

This was so hard for me to do because I LOVED teaching Spanish AND it was at a Montessori school. It was one of those very hard times where I had to choose between my career and my children. I love my career but I hate to be away from my kids for a long period of time. That is why teaching online has been such a blessing for my family and me. It has allowed me to stay at home with the children while earning income, a very good one at that, lots of great benefits, and the fact that I love to work and interact with other educators.

I am very excited to have the children at school part-time. The kids will attend school from 8:30-11:30. The campus and programs are amazing. This is such a fantastic Montessori School. It has everything I wanted in a school. I am very fortunate to have been able to get both kids in the school. Sweet Boy will be in Kindergarten and Bella in PreK-3. These are my labels. Since it is a Montessori School, they will both be in the Primary Classrooms. I will write a separate post about their school with pictures of their campus at a later date.

It is hard to make those types of decisions indeed. But atleast you still get the best of both worlds with online teaching...perhaps it's something I should also look into- special ed online consulting. My dd will also be starting K in Montessori this fall. We're really excited.

Kindergarten is so exciting! I peeked at your blog and loved the Michael Jackson posters! I know I had a few on my wall when young! We've been playing a lot of Michael's Music and the kids are so cute dancing to it!

Regarding work: You are right Alycia, I do have the best of both worlds and I don't take any of it for granted!

Dear Gigi, You have been such a great inspiration for me, like you I teach Spanish at a Montessori school, and I am also the assistant in the toddler room. My three children(8,5,3) attend this wonderful school. At times I do worry because they do stay all day (8-3)but when i see the benefits of all us being part of the same school I find it very rewarding. I hope you can continue keeping your Spanish Blog because it really has been wonderful for all your ideas, and knowledge. I wish you the best this coming year and look forward for more of your inspiration. In peace, Maria Espinal Tampa,Florida.

Hi Maria! Thank you so much for the sweet comments. Just today i was thinking about how much I missed teaching Spanish. I hope one day to be teaching at the same school the kids attend. I would be very happy if that was the case. I grew up attending the same schools my mother taught and that made me very happy.

Dear Gigi,
I haven't been on the computer lately so I apologize for not keeping in touch, I do hope you and your family are doing very well.
I know it's hard to balance everything but keeping the children at the montessori school and everything you do for them at home you do exactly what they need to thrive!!!!! My children are literately thriving they are so amazing and it's because we follow the inner child. What an amazing philosophy "montessori" is.
Ok hope your felling well and best wishes always, Maria Espinal
